De jas heeft zo zijn gebruikssporen. Er zijn wat schadeplekjes rond de knopen en aan de binnenzijde en vlekjes op de mouw. Op de jas zitten sergeant stripes, een enlistment stripe, ruptured duck voor eervol ontslag, 2nd air force patch en de manhattan project patch. Het label is nog goed leesbaar en het jasje is 1941 gedateerd. Het betreft een kleinere maat.

Militairen die onderdeel waren van het Manhattan Project waren betrokken bij de productie/het ontwerpen van atoomwapens en de Atoombom. Pas vanaf 1946 mochten militairen die betrokken waren geweest de patch dragen op hun uniform. Vanwege de strenge geheimhoudingsplicht. Na betrokken te zijn geweest bij het Manhatan Project is deze militair overgeplaatst naar de 2nd Air Force.

The jacket has its traces of use. There are some spots of damage around the buttons and on the inside and spots on the sleeve. The jacket has sergeant stripes, an enlistment stripe, ruptured duck for honorable discharge, 2nd air force patch and the Manhattan project patch. The label is still clearly legible and the jacket is dated 1941.
It's a smaller size jacket.

Military personnel who were part of the Manhattan Project were involved in the production/design of atomic weapons and the Atomic Bomb. Only from 1946 onwards were soldiers who had been involved allowed to wear the patch on their uniform. Because of the strict confidentiality obligation. After being involved in the Manhatan Project, this soldier was transferred to the 2nd Air Force.
