WWII US Airborne Troop Carrier Uniform Set
De set is in nette staat en bestaat uit een blouse en een broek.
De blouse heeft meerdere insignes waaronder sergeant stripes, een ruptured duck, 5 overseas bars, USAAf patch en natuurlijk de Airborne Troop Carrier patch! Het label van de blouse is helaas uitgewassen en niet meer leesbaar.
De broek daarentegen heeft wel nog het label. Deze is netjes gedateerd 1943 en heeft een goede maar 32 x 33.
In de broek staat meerdere keren de naam Cromer, M E gestempeld samen met army serial number 33104380.
Na onderzoek blijkt de set afkomstig te zijn van Marcel Eugene Cromer. Welke onderdeel was van de 52nd Troop Carrier Wing, 316th Troop Carrier Group, 36th Troop Carrier Squadron. Zijn Troop Carrier Group/Squadron heeft actie gezien van 1942 tot 1945 en was onder andere betrokken bij de volgende acties:
- Invasion of Italy, Operation Avalanche, dropped paratroopers at the Sele River
- Invasion of Europe, D-Day, 82nd Airborne dropped at St. Mere Eglise
- IInvasion of The Netherlands, Operation Market Garden, 82nd Airborne dropped at Nijmegen, Eindhoven and Grave
- Battle Of The Bulge, supplies Dropped for the 101st Airborne at Bastogne
- Rine Crossing, Operation Varsity, dropped paratroopers near Wesel
Kortom een hele interessante set met veel potentie voor verder onderzoek. Een aanwinst voor de US militaria verzamelaar!

The set is in good condition and consists of a blouse and trousers.
The blouse has several insignias including sergeant stripes, a ruptured duck, 5 overseas bars, USAAf patch and of course the Airborne Troop Carrier patch! Unfortunately, the label of the blouse has been washed out and is no longer legible.
The pants, on the other hand, still have the label. This is neatly dated 1943 and has a good but 32 x 33.
The name Cromer, M E, is stamped several times on the trousers together with army serial number 33104380.
After research, the set appears to come from Marcel Eugene Cromer. Which was part of the 52nd Troop Carrier Wing, 316th Troop Carrier Group, 36th Troop Carrier Squadron. His Troop Carrier Group/Squadron saw action from 1942 to 1945 and was involved in the following actions:
