De jas is nog in nette staat. Dit soort jassen werden gemaakt voor de US Marine Corps in Amerika en tijdens en na de oorlog gedragen door Nederlandse Mariniers. Al tijdens de oorlog waren Nederlandse soldaten in opleiding in Amerika bij het USMC in Camp LeJeune. Daar trainden zij voor de bevrijding van Nederlands Indie. Aan het eind van de opleiding, in augustus 1945 waren er ongeveer 4800 Nederlandse mariniers in opleiding.
Deze jas heeft een private rank stripe, Netherlands marines patch en zeer zeldzame Nederlandse Marine knopen. Vermoedelijk gaat het hier dus om een van de vroegere aanmaak jassen. De jas komt tevens met USMC riem en garrison cap. Een bijzondere set voor mij je collectie!

The jacket is still in good condition. These types of jackets were made for the US Marine Corps in America and worn by Dutch Marines during and after the war. Even during the war, Dutch soldiers were training in America at the USMC at Camp LeJeune. There they prepared for the liberation of the Dutch East Indies. By the end of their training, in August 1945, there were approximately 4,800 Dutch Marines in training.
This jacket features a private rank stripe, a Netherlands Marines patch, and very rare Dutch Navy buttons. It's likely one of the earlier production jackets. The jacket also comes with a USMC belt and garrison cap. A special set for my collection!
